Bow and Tulle

Just a little of glitz and glam for the Holiday

I can't believed we are only 11 days away from Christmas! I don't know about you guys but Christmas is my most favorite holiday of all time. I am not a religious person nor a Christian. My parents practice Buddhism and I grew up with it. I consider myself practicing no religion and I'd like to keep it that way. So you ask why I go in debt about my personal belief?   The reason is that people tend to think that if you celebrate Christmas, you must be Christian! After all, Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus himself. As for me Christmas is more than that. Rather than it being associated with religion, it is more of a cultural holiday for me. When I think of Christmas, I do not think Christ but rather of the snow, warm-welcoming people, Chritmas tree, Christmas songs, etc. I think it is really appropriate since America is such a mixing bowl. People from different countries, backgrounds, races, and religions, all celebrate Christmas. That being said, it is really hard to tied Christmas to just one religion. Justin and I do agree that Christmas is a Cultural Holiday for us, something that we both celebrate during the month of December.

This outfit is all about the glitz and glam to prep me for Christmas. There is just something about Christmas that makes me feel so girly and want to dress in the most feminine silhouette I have. Nothing screams more girly than a Tulle skirt (mine is from Kohl's). I used the skirt as my center piece and style everything around it. I paired this look with a chic sweater with the polkadots details to match the polkadots on my skirt. I dug through my closet and found this Kate Spade Bag from last year which I really adore (similar bag here). To finish the look, I just threw on this bronze/silver pumps and some cute necklace.

Later on that day, I just sat down and played with my new Elf make up which I received for free from Influenster for testing purposes. I love Elf and I couldn't be more happy to play with my new goodies. Thank you Influenster for sending me this (Join me here on Influenster)!

  1. Interesting to read your perspective about Christmas. I'm not religious either but grew up with it and still celebrate as a cultural holiday too.

  3. I'm an atheist but I love celebrating Christmas. It's become a Hallmark holiday for me, kinda like Valentine's Day.
